Do many people travel alone?

Yes. In fact most people who go to Thailand are travelling solo.

By going with ThaIntro you’ll be going as part of a group, so it’s a

great way to meet people!

How much money will I need?

It depends on how long you’re going travelling for and how much you spend along the way.

It’s a good idea to have at least £400 or $1000 for every month that you’re going to be away.

Do I need a visa to travel to Thailand and how long can I stay?

You will be granted a 30-day Tourist Visa on your arrival in Thailand. By leaving Thailand and returning (even on the same day) you will receive another 30 days. This can be done to a total of 90 days within a 6 month period of stay.

Will I get by without knowing the Thai language?

Yes. The majority of locals in tourist areas such as Bangkok and the popular islands speak English. We recommend learning a few key words such as ‘hello’, ‘thank you ‘ and ‘are you definitely a woman’ to help you get by. We can teach you these.

How long in advance do I need to book with ThaIntro?

You can book with us right up until just before you leave.

However groups often fill up, so it’s a good idea to book early.

Do I need to book my flights before I book with ThaIntro?

No. You can book with us and then book your flight.

We can even help you find a great deal on your flight.

If I’ve already booked my flight can I still book with ThaIntro?

Yes. As long as you are in Bangkok on one of the start dates you can book with us.

Does it matter if I arrive in Thailand before one of the start dates?

No. As long as you are in Bangkok on one of the start dates you can book with us.

We can book you in to the hostel from the day you arrive.

It’s best to arrive on the actual start date as most people find that spending more than a couple of days in Bangkok is too long.

Also, there aren’t any activities on the start date, so you’ll be able to settle in and relax.

What happens after the ThaIntro week?

We end the week on Koh Phangan, a beautiful island off the South-East coast of Thailand.

After your week with ThaIntro you’ll have made some good friends, plus you’ll have been given lots of advice on travelling in Thailand and South East Asia.

Some people continue travelling with the friends they’ve made, some people stay on the island, and some people travel back up to Bangkok with the Group Leader. It’s totally up to you.

Is Thailand a dangerous place to visit?

No. Thailand is generally a safe place. With our help, some common sense and respect for the Thai culture you’ll be ok.

Do I need injections before I go to Thailand?

You might want to get injections to protect against Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus and Rabies.

Although unless you drink water out of the tap, get bitten by a monkey, or share needles the risk of catching something is very low.

Will I get sick whilst I’m there?

Yes - if you drink water out of the tap, eat food that hasn’t been cooked properly, get bitten by a stray dog because you teased it, or drink too much Thai whisky.

Otherwise you’ll be fine.
