Thailand is an amazingly beautiful country with tropical islands, pristine beaches, coral reefs, national parks, rainforests, waterfalls and an abundance of wildlife.

With so much beauty it's no wonder that Thailand is such a popular place to visit - with over 12 million people travelling there each year.

All these visitors have naturally put a strain on the environment and Thailand is in the process of figuring out how to maximise tourism growth whilst minimising any negative impact on the environment.

What can we do?

At ThaIntro we strongly believe in responsible and ethical travel.
Our aim is to not only ensure our trips have as little negative impact on the environment as possible, but that they also contribute towards having a positive effect that will ensure Thailand stays beautiful for many years to come.

Our Group Leaders in Thailand explain the importance of travelling responsibly to each group and offer simple, practical suggestions on how to minimise their impact on the environment.

We’re also working closely with the local Thai people on specific projects in Thailand to help them clean up beaches, conserve marine life, reduce waste and make improvements to infrastructure that will help facilitate continued tourism growth in an environmentally responsible way.

And we donate £1 pound from every ThaIntro booking to help fund environmental and conservation projects in Thailand.

What a load of rubbish

One of the biggest environmental problems in Thailand is waste disposal - specifically plastic. It’s amazing how many people still throw garbage, plastic bottles and cigarette butts on the ground! This has a massive negative impact on not only the appearance of a place but on the environment. It’s a serious problem but has a simple solution… just put your garbage in the bin and encourage others to do the same!

On top of this, you can also reduce the amount of garbage you produce by buying local produce instead of imported, packaged goods. Or by simply refusing a plastic bag when you buy something. You can even take it one step further by picking up garbage when you see it, even if it’s not yours.

By doing these simple things you will be doing your part towards having a positive effect that will help ensure Thailand stays beautiful for many years to come!
